ABOUT LAUREN SHORES

Analyzing, wrangling, and modeling data for over seven years, I am a data scientist with a curious mind who enjoys the flow that comes from being totally immersed in solving a problem, discovering insights, or building a solution. In my current role, I lead an area of projects related to last mile delivery, planning and driving the strategy for creating prediction-based, machine learning enabled products that foster data-driven decision-making in real time. I am experienced in development through the entire data science project life cycle, from data exploration to model deployment.Well-rounded, I believe that communication and presentation is a huge piece of the success of any data project. Which is why I have been a member of Toastmasters International, an organization that fosters communication and leadership skills, since I joined my current company, and have served in leadership positions for the last three years, including Club President. I also understand that being a good listener and great collaborator are equally important to the success of a data science initiative.Outside of work, I serve on the executive committee of BlackTIDES, an organization that strives to support black folks who are in or who are interested in data careers. I occasionally work on data science projects of interest on the side, and I enjoy writing.
