Hi there, I\'m Lauren! I’m a senior financial analyst at Potbelly.EDUCATIONI graduated cum laude from DePaul\'s Strobel Honors Accounting Program and with a minor in Creative Writing. I\'ve held three different leadership positions at DePaul through their student funding boards and accounting organizations. I was recognized for my leadership ability with DePaul\'s Outstanding Sophomore Award for Excellence in Leadership. Throughout college, I was interning at companies like PwC and Grant Thornton; attending leadership and professional development conferences hosted by Deloitte, EY, PwC, and Goldman Sachs; and working part-time in the retail industry. Not long after graduating, I pursued my CPA and passed all four exams in under a year while working as a tax associate at Grant Thornton.WORK EXPERIENCEAs a tax associate at Grant Thornton, I worked primarily on partnerships with domestic and foreign activity. Some of the forms I helped prepare in GoSystem were 1065, 7004, K-1, K-2/K-3, 8825, and 8990. I assisted in research for tax positions and rules and documented my findings with memos. Additionally, I was on anywhere from 3-5 client engagements at a time. I eventually took on a staff accountant role at Home Chef, where I was involved in month-end close processes and quarterly and year-end reports in accordance with GAAP. I helped manage Home Chef’s credit card program and worked on ad hoc projects throughout the year within the accounting department and with other departments.
