ABOUT LAUREN DIMITRI
I am a legal professional with 18+ years of experience built on a diverse legal background. I have significant experience litigating cases from inception through trial, as well as, negotiating, drafting and managing commercial services agreements, confidentiality agreements, service and warranty agreements and sales agreements. Since July of 2020, I have been with Kia Georgia as Senior Corporate Counsel - Transactional/Commercial Litigation. In this position, I am the head of our contracts division. I draft and negotiate a wide range of vendor/supplier contracts, confidentiality agreements, Statements/Scopes of Work, Service and Warranty Agreements, International Sales Agreements and Parts Development Agreements. I also assist with pre-litigation matters and litigation matters involving a range of topics. This position also allows me to review, analyze and provide recommendations to the company on a diverse range of legal topics. Prior to joining the Kia family, I was a Shareholder with Hall Booth Smith in the Columbus, GA office. My main areas of focus were insurance defense, medical malpractice defense, appellate writing and complex commercial litigation. Prior to working with HBS, I was an associate with the law firm of Page, Scrantom, Sprouse, Tucker and Ford, where I gained significant experience in legal research, writing, oral argument and commercial collections/contracts.I am humbled to be peer rated AV Preeminent with Martindale Hubbell. I am admitted to practice in both the state and federal courts of Georgia and Alabama. I earned my bachelor\'s degree in Political Science from the University of Georgia, graduating magna cum laude in 2004. I then attended the University of Georgia School of Law, where I completed my J.D. in 2007. While at the University of Georgia, I served as notes editor for The Georgia Journal of International and Comparative Law.Outside of work, I enjoy sports and the outdoors. I also enjoy spending time with my husband, Tony, and our children, Cayden (16) and Carrington (12).
