About Lauren Calahan
Whether in wealth, family, health, education or philanthropy, I am a visionary who identifies outdated models that can be easily tweaked to add value to the next generation. In my next venture as a concierge, coach and consultant, I feel fortunate to be able to integrate almost 40 years of professional and personal experiences, as we work with families and businesses alike, to help optimize both the health and wealth of the family. Our Family Office is the product of one question and a shifting cultural climate: Why is a traditional family office called A Family Office when it optimizes the business, legal and wealth of the family, but falls way short of optimizing the demands of the family itself? If we simply expand the network of professionals we offer each family, across generations, we will more holistically support the health, wealth, business, legal AND familial demands of the family. Why now? As trillions of dollars move across generations and genders in our fast paced, disconnected culture, our next gen will require a less generic, more holistic version of the once traditional family office and wealth management models. This new model will be a one stop shop, perfect fit, where a family can \"have it all\". Additionally, to simplify the chaos created by mental illness, divorce, illness and end of life transitions, we can now build our families the personalized team of excellence they deserve. Welcome to Our Family Office: Concierge support for \"everything family\", that did not exist, until now. In 2010, to create a paradigm shift in both education and philanthropy, I developed LEAP and LEAP4change: A leadership coaching and consulting program designed to coach students and professionals to 1) become accountable, emotionally intelligent leaders, 2) build diverse teams in local and global communities, 3) envision and implement their own entrepreneurial change, and 4) leverage their impact as a resume to access higher education and job opportunities. As a life coach, educator, entrepreneur, trainer, speaker, and collaborator, my work empowered the next generation to unite with ingenuity to create solutions to today’s chronic issues like racism, the entrepreneurial failure rate, the achievement gap, maternal health, mental illness and more. In 7 years, 1,040 LEAP Participants, in 31 Local and Global Communities, have built 91 Partnerships, to engage well over people. Question. Imagine. Empower. Inspire. Love. Let\'s change our world together.

To help eradicate poverty, both in the US and across the globe, LEAP designed a new experiential leadership model to raise a culturally competent generation of leaders. LEAP begins with a LEAP to Lead leadership class, and is followed by a cycle of leadership opportunities designed to build diverse partnerships and train students to use communication, collaboration and ingenuity to achieve success. The recipe: 1) Form an inter-racial, inter-class, multi-cultural LEAP team with partners from 1 global and 2 local diverse communities.2) Meet and communicate weekly, locally and globally, to train the individuals to know themselves as leaders, know their diverse partners as equals, and communicate to name and resolve the chronic issues that weaken themselves and their communities.3) Learn to compare and assess the roots, similarities and differences, and strengths and weaknesses of identified chronic cultural issues.4) Build resilience skills as the team is tested as change agents who are committed to make a positive impact on their local and global world. 5) Connect the LEAP team to the professional resources in their larger communities to build unity, acquire pre-professional skills, and ensure success of the mission. In short, LEAP has 3 objectives:1) Train each individual, regardless of origin, with the needed skills to reach his or her potential2) Unite our diverse communities as collaborative agents for change3) Prepare a more unified, educated, responsible, accountable and culturally competent generation to lead this country. LEAP educators teach leadership development and consult to all schools and organizations about how to augment your leadership mission with empowering partnerships.
