I oversee development of scripts for Edpuzzle Originals language arts short-form video lessons as part of the curriculum team. I supervise script development process from brainstorming to final draft, ensuring scripts have a consistent voice, clear ideas, robust and engaging content, and rigorous scaffolded assessment components. I develop script templates and outlines to expedite the process and engage in content discovery with my team of Curriculum Designers. Our fully animated Language Arts content includes elementary grammar lessons, middle school literary device lessons, and high school literature analysis, including lots of Shakespeare. We produce dozens of videos every month, and every ELA script goes through me!

ABOUT LAUREN BRODIE

I create literacy materials that engage students for impactful learning outcomes, using exceptional creativity and precision. We learn best through stories, and I am a storyteller who breaks down complex concepts into instruction that is easy to follow and remember. I facilitate literacy and content learning in K-12 students and provide professional development that supports teachers so that both groups can achieve their potentials as readers, writers, and thinkers. I have taught writing for over 15 years and know how to facilitate genuine engagement in students. As Curriculum Director for Story Pirates, I wrote lesson plan companions to the Webby-Award winning Story Pirates Podcast (1 million monthly downloads). As an Instructional Designer for Canopy Education, I create streamlined multimedia ELA and SEL units that offer multiple ways for students to engage with content and demonstrate mastery. I have exceptional interpersonal, mentorship, presentation, writing, and speaking skills, and no matter the challenge, I solve problems with a sense of humor. I excel at project management and consulting, particularly when working with outside partners. I\'ve loved tackling teaching complex scientific concepts with the National Science Foundation, American Museum of Natural History, and The Geffen Theater. I also love media work and have appeared on national television as well as PBS stations in NYC and LA.
