ABOUT LAUREN BARCLAY

I am an eager and driven student who is passionate about learning through new opportunities and experiences. When I entered college I was undecided in my major, without a clue which direction I wanted to go in. It was through those two years of taking elective classes in different academic departments that I found my passion: business - more specifically, supply chain management. Through the changes in my college career I have developed numerous skills that I am ready to put to use, and grow, in the workforce. This past summer I had the opportunity to intern with Stanley Martin Homes as a People Operations Intern. I gained valuable knowledge throughout this experience and was able to continue part time with the company throughout the fall semester. As a supply chain management major, I am fascinated by the way products move through the supply chain and all of the processes needed to get products to their final destination. My passion for supply chain started during the COVID-19 Pandemic when I truly started to witness the bottlenecks and issues occurring, and how important supply chain is for a functioning society. Additionally, I am a member of the Delta Gamma Sorority, Supply Chain Management Society, and TerpThon. In my free time I enjoy exploring new locations with friends and family as well as coloring as a creative outlet and way to relax my mind. I possess skills including Microsoft Office, teamwork, collaboration, and communication. I also have strong analytical, problem solving, and organizational skills. I am currently looking for full time job opportunities within the supply chain field in order to enhance my learning and curiosity about the industry.
