ABOUT LAUREN BALDWIN

Lauren has 13 years of experience in sustainability program management, including four years of sustainability reporting experience and seven years of experience in sustainability program management and environmental education/outreach. As the Director of Sustainability Reporting & Communications with RE Tech Advisors, Lauren leads a team who supports several projects at every stage of the sustainability program development process, from policy development to framework reporting support. Lauren has extensive experience with GRESB reporting, policy development, due diligence checklists, and Corporate Sustainability Report development.Previously, in 2018, Lauren started Creosote Collaborative, the first sustainability and urban planning consulting firm in El Paso, which later merged with Quantum Engineering Consultants. As the Director of Sustainability for Quantum Engineering Consultants, she managed community projects that promoted health and sustainability, safe and complete streets, and equitable and inclusive design.Prior to Creosote, Lauren was the Sustainability Coordinator for the City of El Paso for almost six years. She helped acquire over in grant funding, implemented projects that have diverted over 300 tons of waste from the landfill, and saved almost on our City’s electric bills as a result of employee energy savings challenges. Lauren helped develop the City\'s first Resilience Plan and supported El Paso\'s involvement in the 100 Resilient Cities Initiative. She helped acquire funding for green infrastructure projects and pollinator habitat projects.Lauren graduated from Virginia Tech with a Bachelor’s Degree in International Studies and a focus in Environmental Policy and Planning (2011), and later received her MBA from the University of Texas at El Paso (2015).Lauren served two terms as an appointee to the EPA’s Good Neighbor Environmental Board, which advises the Council of Environmental Quality and the President on environmental resilience issues in communities along the U.S- Mexico border. She also volunteered as an adoption counselor with El Paso Animal Services, as Chair of the U.S. Green Building Council West Texas Advisory Council, as a founder of the Velo Paso Bicycle Pedestrian Coalition, and Conference Planning Manager for the West Texas Urban Forestry Council. Lauren is also a LEED Accredited Professional (through USGBC) for Neighborhood Development (LEED AP ND) and a certified Master Wellness Volunteer through Texas A&M AgriLife Extension.
