About Lauren Azebu
Lauren Azebu has over a decade of experience advising domestic and foreign clients on a broad spectrum of complex tax matters, including cross-border investments, business restructurings, pre-immigration and expatriation planning, digital asset issues, information reporting and withholding obligations, and FATCA compliance. In addition to advising clients on tax planning issues, Lauren counsels clients on competent authority issues and represents clients in IRS examinations. She is actively involved in Steptoe\'s pro bono program, and has assisted several clients in settling tax issues with the IRS and state tax agencies.Before joining Steptoe, Lauren worked as a tax accountant at Ernst & Young LLP. In this role, she gained considerable skills working with audit teams to calculate quarterly tax provisions for corporate entities, and handling tax return preparation for business and individual clients.Lauren is extensively involved in professional and community organizations. She is a Board Member and the former President of the DC Chapter of the Coalition of Women\'s Initiatives in Law, as well as a founding member and former Vice-Chair of the ABA Women in Tax Forum. She currently serves on the Board of APABA-DC and a member of its Philanthropy Leadership and Community Engagement Program.
