ABOUT LAUREL STARKS

Laurel Starks is a recognized expert in family law real estate, and is in the top 1% in sales volume of agents worldwide. In this capacity she has advised, consulted and testified in hundreds of divorce cases, and serves as a court-appointed expert in the disposition of real property. Attorneys, judges and other legal professionals have come to rely on Laurel’s knowledge, judgment, integrity, as well as her ability to explain complex real estate matters to those affected by them.Laurel is the author of The House Matters in Divorce (published by Unhooked Books, January 2016), a guide for divorcing homeowners and the first published book of its kind. In its first few days of release, it topped the Amazon New Release charts, ranking #1 New Release in Divorce and Family Law.As the foremost pioneer in the field, Laurel was named an Inman Innovator, one of the most prestigious honors in the real estate field. Laurel writes columns and articles for a variety of publications, and she speaks at numerous events around the country each year, and is equally at home addressing ordinary homeowners or a room full of judges and attorneys. She is a recognized provider of Mandatory Continuing Legal Education (MCLE) for attorneys, and an EC §730 evaluator for real estate matters in family law cases.Laurel’s educational work also addresses the general public, through events such as the Divorce Options seminar. She was the founder of the Divorce Real Estate Clinic, held at the San Bernardino County Law Library; and Divorcing 101 at University of La Verne College of Law. Laurel is vice president of Collaborative Divorce Professionals of the Inland Empire, and an ad hoc committee member of their Divorce Options Program, held at Mt. San Antonio College. In 2018, Laurel founded The Ilumni Institute, the leading divorce real estate training organization in the nation, and the issuer of the CDRE™ (Certified Divorce Real Estate Expert) credential.
