ABOUT LAUREEN MESINA
Hi, my name is Laureen and I’m a pre-nursing student attending LA Harbor college! As a CNA for over 2 years in the telemetry oncology unit, I’ve had the opportunity to provide direct patient care by assisting with daily activities, monitoring vital signs, and ensuring patient safety and comfort. My experiences shadowing a nurse anesthetist and collaborating with nurses to provide the best possible care to patients have inspired me to pursue a specialty in critical care. As a co-founder of Future Medical Leaders at my community college, I aim to empower fellow students to take leadership in their education and community while also facilitating public health projects. I love organizing events that support community college students and exploring ways to make healthcare more accessible to all! After 2 years of community college, I\'m ready to move on to the next step of my career by attending UCLA\'s School of Nursing! I\'m excited to grow my clinical skills, become a stronger advocate for patients, and contribute to health equity, one patient at a time :) Besides my career pursuits, I love to crochet and rock climb (bouldering is my favorite).
