In this role of strategic people business partner, I have a primary responsibility for actively integrating the organisation business strategies and plans with people management practices within the Auckland / Northland Region (700 employees - 2,100 volunteers) whilst co-leading the People and Volunteerism portfolios for the Region.I am the strategic partner between the Region Leadership Team and the People Branch, ensuring there is a two-way flow of information and intelligence to support Service Delivery.I am leading a team of 2 Senior People Advisors who work closely with our District Leadership teams.This role also includes- building and maintaining relationships at all levels within my stakeholder portfolio, including collaborating closely with the people branch team in our region- being responsible for creating an environment where cross-functional virtual teams work together to achieve the organisation objectives- proactively managing and resolving complex people-related issues, including disciplinary, grievance, and performance matters, while identifying underlying trends across business areas to inform strategic HR initiatives- partnering with leaders to address systemic concerns, ensure compliance with employment legislation, and support positive employee relations- acting as a key advisor on ER/IR matters, including union engagement, collective bargaining, and dispute resolution, contributing to a fair, consistent, and legally compliant workplace.
