Experienced liaising and building relationships with employees, health professionals, operations staff, union reps, and provincial WCB staff.• Knowledgeable of Manitoba, Nova Scotia, and Alberta’s Workers’ Compensation Act Legislation and Regulations, along with Provincial and Federal OH & S Legislation and Regulations.• Managed WCB, Short Term and Long Term Disability claims portfolio for the province of Nova Scotia and currently Manitoba. • Communicate with Case Managers (WCB, Telus Health, Canada Life) to track progression of claims. • Follow best practices for Disability Management Programs, and the application of collective bargaining agreements.• Proficient in Microsoft Office programs, managing case files, and calculation of payments for variety of claims.• Assist Operations with incident investigations, audit reporting to WCB. • Facilitate a variety of RTW based on a range of complexity of needs and occupations, from temporary to permanent, visible and non-visible injuries and conditions.• Review the collective agreements for each of the 4 unions (CUPW, CPAA, APOC, PSAC) when assessing accommodation needs. • Organize job site visits and ergo assessments for return-to-work programs for claims and accommodation requests.• Organize and track claims to ensure consistent updates from third party providers regarding progress reporting. • Upload documentation to the claims system, including medical and meeting notes.• Host regular scheduled meetings with WCB and Operations for claims updates and GRTW planning.• Facilitate return-to- work meetings for employees and support Operations if complications/barriers develop. • Liaise with Learning and Development to include outstanding training for return-to-work plans. • Track long term absences, working with Operations and HR to confirm support.• Member of national group reviewing and auditing Physical Demands Analysis of occupations at Canada Post. Provide feedback to National OH & S prior to release.
