About Laura Patterson

I\'ve found my home in People Ops (Human Resources, with an emphasis on human) because I am, without cliché, a People person. I love HR because it\'s a field ripe for growth and change, and I\'ve always enjoyed questioning the system. But, I also love it because I have the opportunity to partner with colleagues across all levels of a business and invest my energy in its most important asset - the team. Mission driven and service-oriented, I\'ve spent most of my career in challenging start-up and high-growth small business environments. Though not HR by academic training, I committed to studying and obtained PHR certification in 2016, followed by SPHR in 2021. Even with the credentials, I\'m comfortable taking out the garbage.
