About Laura Lucas-Edwards

I am currently serving as the Director of Line Operations at Delta Airlines, where I oversee the safe and efficient execution of day-to-day flight operations throughout all theaters. In this role, I lead a team that is responsible for the development and implementation of operational strategies at the corporate, national, and international levels. Additionally, I am a Captain on the Airbus 320. I have flown commercially for over 20 years, and I am type rated in the CL-65, Boeing 757/767, and the Airbus 320/330/350. I have held leadership positions in both safety and training, and served as the Chief Pilot of Safety where I led the ERC, fatigue program, and human factors teams. Prior to that position, I was an APD on the A320. I have also instructed on the Boeing 757/767 and A350. I was part of the initial instructor cadre that helped launch the A350 fleet at Delta Airlines—the first North American carrier to operate this jet.
