ABOUT LAURA LORENZO-SANZ
Accomplished scientist with a strong international track record in cancer biology, immunotherapy, and translational medicine. I’m a Research Associate at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center (New York, USA), where my research focuses on understanding the dynamic regulation of the immune system during tumor progression and in response to therapy, with the goal of exploiting our discoveries to devise novel and effective therapies. Previously, my work at IDIBELL (Barcelona, Spain) and UMC Cancer Center (Amsterdam, the Netherlands) revealed how cancer cell plasticity and heterogeneity contribute to immune evasion, alter the tumor microenvironment, and drive resistance to immune checkpoint blockade therapies.I obtained a PhD in Biomedicine and Cancer Immunology from the Bellvitge Biomedical Research Institute (IDIBELL, Barcelona, Spain), and a master’s degree in Biomedicine from the University of Barcelona.I am passionate about advancing cancer research to improve patient outcomes and committed to leveraging scientific expertise and collaborative partnerships to drive innovation in oncology.
