   Responsible for the leadership and strategy of a centralized R&D organization which hosts subject matter experts who support product development for all business units including Automotive, Consumer Electronics, Health Medical Devices, and Professional Systems. The following functions comprise GDE: Product Assurance Engineering ensures all new products meet safety and quality standards and comply with certifications and regulations around the world. This group includes reliability, EMC, safety, environmental compliance, materials engineering, validation engineering and global testing laboratory capabilities. Electronic & Final Assembly Process & Test Engineering ensures that the best manufacturing methods and processes are utilized during the manufacturing of our products. This group also drives all new product introduction activities for all Bose products across all contract manufacturers. Supplier Technology Engineering is responsible for the design, development and supplier quality of our most critical technologies to enable the differentiation in our products. They are also responsible for the technology roadmaps and approved supplier list of these critical technologies which include transducers, batteries, microphones, plastics, electronic components, and packaging. Acoustic Test Engineering ensures all new products meet our acoustic response requirements. Shenzhen, China Engineering supports ongoing product development with our contract manufacturers in Asia. This team includes extended staff for all the functions above and mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, and program management for in-region Asia support of product development. Frequently makes decisions on the priority, strategic items and resources needed to meet commitments on ongoing product development projects and coordinates with other company leaders to ensure that the needs of the product development organizations regarding product development and launch are optimally met.
