ABOUT LAURA EVANS

I am a leader and public speaker with almost two decades\' experience in Operations, Policy, and Regulatory Compliance across the private, public, and charity sectors. My career to date has focussed on streamlining operations and managing risk to make best use of financial and people resources, and policy development and implementation that works in the real world, whilst helping to remove barriers people face in society - in employment and education - by supporting organisations to shape inclusive cultures.I sit as an Expert Advisory Board member on Equality, Diversity and Inclusion with the Institute of Directors, an Employment Advisor on the Advisory Board of Long Covid Support, and have been an Expert Panel member for Responsible Business with Liverpool Chamber of Commerce. I also attend the IoD’s Economic Policy and Trends Group. I’m an Associate Member of the Employment Lawyers Association and have contributed to a number of its Working Parties, responding to government consultations on employment law. I’m also an Accredited Mediator specialising in commercial and employment mediation, and Associate Member with both the Civil Mediation Council and the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators. I’m a Chartered Manager and Fellow with the Chartered Management Institute and bring an international good practice perspective as a Fellow of the Institute of Managers and Leaders Australia and New Zealand. I undertake some pro bono consultancy work alongside board roles in the charity sector. I am currently Chair of South Liverpool Domestic Abuse Services and was previously Chair of Citizens Advice Sefton, where I also Chaired the People and Culture Committee and sat on the Finance, Risk, and Compliance Committee. I’m also a Director on the Board of a multi academy trust.
