Changing the world through kindness.Every week, 52 Lives helps to change someone\'s life. We choose someone somewhere in the world in need of help, share their story on our website and social media, and request what that person needs. Our kind supporters then spread the word, offer help if they can, and we change that person\'s life - and inspire millions more who read about our stories of kindness. 52 Lives also works with thousands of children every year as part of our School Kindness Project. Each week, we visit a different school to run Kindness Workshops. These workshops aim to empower children by helping them realise that the little choices they make every day can make a big difference to the world.

ABOUT LAURA FURNESS

I have over 20 years experience in the voluntary and public sector, with experience in leadership, grant making, safeguarding (children and adults at risk), policy and delivery. I have a strong desire to create better systems for those most neglected by current approaches and have worked successfully across the voluntary and public sector in systemic change.I have core skills in partnership development and stakeholder relationships along with programme management and influencing policy. I have worked within complex systems, identifying strengths and weaknesses, creating opportunities and evidence for change. I am a proudly disabled person (though I really dislike the term) and have used my experience of growing up with a disability to develop resilience, an ability to think differently and find solutions. My lived experience gives me a strong ambition to reach goals, challenge assumptions, empower others and make the world a better place. I firmly believe that lived and learnt experience is an unbeatable combination and advocate for genuine co-creation and co-delivery in all I do.https://laura-furness.medium.com/
