About Laura Whitsitt
I am a Senior Executive with extensive experience in medical devices and leadership. Areas of expertise include global R&D, talent management and development, succession planning, organizational development/integration, strategic planning, enterprise risk management, litigation/IP strategy, and pandemic/flexible work planning. I retired from Smith+Nephew after serving 35 years in R&D leadership roles. I am currently sharing my experience in executive leadership as a coach with Team Trek and as a board member at Embed Biotech. I am NACD.DC certified and have extensive background serving as a director on community and charitable boards, including the Greater Memphis Chamber where I served on the Nominating and Governance Committee, as well as Co-Chair for the Chairman\'s Circle, a group of visionary, civic-minded executives committed to moving Memphis forward through economic prosperity and quality of life. I am currently serving as board member and Governance Committee Chair for Christian Community Foundation, a non-profit, community-based foundation managing donor-advised funds. Other boards I have served on include LaunchTN, a public/private partnership organization empowering Tennessee\'s growing entrepreneurial ecosystem and Cornerstone Preparatory School, a charter school focused on improving education for every student, regardless of zip code, race or family income.
