About Laura West Fischer
Laura Fischer is a Principal Team Lead for Climate Resilience Analysis in the Energy Systems and Climate Analysis Group at the Electric Power Research Institute (EPRI). Laura manages EPRI\'s Climate Risk and Resilience Program having previously served as the Physical Climate Data and Guidance Lead under EPRI\'s Climate Resilience and Adaptation Initiative (Climate READi). She leads a team of researchers exploring the potential physical impacts of climate change on the electric power system, identifying climate data that are available to support proactive and forward-looking planning, and working with engineers, asset managers, and power system planners to embed consideration of climate change into existing power system modeling and analysis. Laura served as a Chapter Author for the Adaptation chapter and a Technical Contributor for the Energy chapter of the Fifth National Climate Assessment. She completed her Master of Science in Environmental Change and Management from the University of Oxford and has previously held positions in the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency and with the American Red Cross of Alaska.
