ABOUT LAURA WATERS

Trained as a regulatory and compliance lawyer with over 27 years experience in corporate and commercial restructuring and compliance across a range of industries and jurisdictions. Based in London, but with an international focus assisting multinational clients to restructure their businesses and working across and managing multidisciplinary teams. I advise clients on optimising and implementing their corporate structure and commercial strategy bringing to bear my expertise in developing compliant plans and undertaking due diligence whilst managing risk and costs. I work across industries and sectors, but I have a particular focus in technology, financial services, energy and mining. Managing a team in London, I have extensive experience of leading European and global projects, transferring assets in excess of £3 billion as part of group restructurings. Recent work has included: Managed exits for two banks and for a regulated insurance business, advising and project managing a restructuring of a technology business across 35 jurisdictions; a restructuring project for a professional services firm in 19 jurisdictions; a global LER programme for a mining conglomerate across 40+ territories; a managed exit of a manufacturing business in the UK for a French parent; and an LER programme with full PMO offering for an FS FTSE 100 client across 25+ territories.
