About Laura Vargas
I have always been drawn to helping people. Throughout my career, I have had the privilege of working with many researchers and educators, each having their own unique story, all with the common mission of advancing science forward. Through their own areas of expertise, I feel as though I have had the opportunity to indirectly contribute to their respective missions of improving the world and the lives of others by providing spaces that support their achievements and inspire new discoveries. These highly technical spaces are both exciting and challenging to me. No two are alike. Each holds its own significance and importance in advancing our world, and I am continually honored to play a small role in making these spaces come to life.”Laura has been planning, programming, designing, and managing projects for science, technology, and higher education clients for more than a decade. She is focused on applying her specialized laboratory planning expertise to EYP’s Total Impact Design mission, having already supported research and development facility projects for high-profile clients as diverse as Shell, Dow, DuPont, the University of Houston, Texas A&M University, Johns Hopkins University and Texas Tech University. With over 2 million square feet of laboratory and support space completed, her experience has focused on research & development in both the academic and private industry setting, spanning a diverse range of scientific fields such as analytical chemistry, physical sciences & engineering, consumer product development, pharmaceutical compounding, aerospace engineering, manufacturing & production, and veterinary medicine. A seasoned leader, she is dedicated to client satisfaction, uniting project teams with the goals of their clients and constituents – resulting in successful and creative contributions to projects throughout the country, with a particular dedication to her home state of Texas.
