ABOUT LAURA URIBE

I have seven years of experience as a social sciences professional with a strong public policy background and rigorous research skills. I focus on advancing into a more open, transparent, efficient and digitized public sector that promotes human-centric solutions to drive development. I am passionate about digital and data governance systems and how they contribute to making states more responsive to citizens\' needs. I am moved and excited by all initiatives that have innovative approaches and are based on innovation principles such as co-creation and iteration as well as helping the public sector to become a more flexible and inclusive one. My goal is to promote evidence-based interventions and projects that include gender as a mainstreamed approach. I hold a Master of Public Policy (MPP) from the Hertie School Berlin. I also hold a Bachelor\'s degree from Externado University in Government and International Relations, and a certificate in Sustainable Development from American University, Washington DC. I have also studied in UCLA, the first public university of the United States as an exchange public policy graduate student. My career has a strong international component with a Global South focus. I have worked for organizations in Colombia, the United States, France and Germany. I speak fluent English, and Spanish, and I have embarked on the task of learning German. I have worked with several key actors in the digital field, including the National Planning Department of Colombia, the OECD, the Inter- American Development Bank, and the German Cooperation Agency (GIZ). I am currently looking to take on various leadership roles in projects related to digital transformation, innovation, and open data in government, all with a strong focus on development. Me enfoco en avanzar hacia un sector público más abierto, transparente, eficiente y digitalizado que promueva soluciones centradas en el ser humano para impulsar el desarrollo. Me apasionan los sistemas de gobernanza digital y de datos y cómo contribuyen a que los estados sean más receptivos a las necesidades de los ciudadanos. Me emocionan todas las iniciativas que tienen enfoques innovadores y se basan en principios de innovación como la co-creación y la iteración, así como ayudar al sector público a volverse más flexible e inclusivo.
