ABOUT LAURA TRENDLE POLUS
I\'m an experienced broadcast journalist, currently writing scripts and editing video in the amazing WGN TV newsroom in Chicago. This is a bookend to my career beginning, as a radio and TV announcer, reporter and producer at 4 stations, including WISN TV in Milwaukee.For 20 years in between, I ran a student newsroom at Illinois State University, where we produced up to 8 live shows weekly. I\'m proud to have created opportunities for the 500+ students I worked with, and to continue to support many of them long after graduation.I\'m a longtime advocate for broadcast journalists. I\'ve been involved with the Illinois News Broadcasters Association in a variety of roles, and more recently I\'ve gone global with that advocacy, through WorldChicago and my travels to the country of Georgia.
