About Laura Oconnor
I work with nonprofits, foundations, and other mission-driven companies to elevate brands, craft compelling narratives, and lead strategic communications and media campaigns proven to advance organizational goals. I am a creative storyteller, trusted advisor, and dedicated people leader. At Burness, I worked with distinguished foundations, social justice nonprofits, and public health organizations to design and launch innovative content strategies that help drive growth and secure new sources of funding. I came to Burness from Alliance for a Healthier Generation—a Clinton Foundation initiative—where I oversaw a 9-member marketing and communications team responsible for digital engagement, marketing, and brand oversight. Together we supported schools in their efforts to transform the health of 31+ million children in the U.S. My process is iterative, intentional, and inventive.
