ABOUT LAURA SOPHIE SCHATTNER
I started my career in 2015 at one of Germany\'s most renowned fashion retail companies as a dual studies student. My journey began with the basics - selling men’s underwear, children\'s clothes, women’s cocktail dresses, and men’s winter jackets. After managing a department on my own, my curiosity grew about the behind-the-scenes processes, which led me to a role at the company’s headquarters. That’s where my IT journey took off, working in authorisation management and improving the onboarding process from an IT perspective. When COVID-19 hit in 2020, the stability of my role started to feel uncertain. During a furlough, I saw this as the perfect moment to make a change. I had always wanted to explore a new company and industry. In 2021, I joined ALDI South\'s international IT team. With no technical degree or background, I made the leap and have since gained invaluable experience. Now, I’m eager to share my story with others and show how it’s possible to transition into tech.
