ABOUT LAURA SMITH
A Sociology and Social Policy Graduate currently working for Reckitt as a Senior HR Business Partner for Sales Commercial, Northern Europe. In November 2019 I graduated with a First Class Honours in BA (Hons) Sociology and Social Policy with a Placement Year where I worked alongside the Chartwells HR Team. The experience and knowledge gained from both my time in employment and education has enabled me to build up key transferable skills. The units I studied at University opened my eyes to a new way to view society and its people and has provided me with a well-developed skill set. Working for a highly reputable company like Chartwells enabled me to gain vital business experience, and allowed me to gain knowledge and experience in a sector I have a real passion for.After University I further developed my knowledge and as a result, gained my Level 2 Diploma in Human Resources. Although I had already gained a wealth of knowledge and practical experience from my Placement Year in the Chartwells HR Team, I wanted to further expand my understanding to ensure I would be prepared for my future career. Within this, I studied modules such as Performance Management, Strategic Planning, and Training and Development.
