ABOUT LAURA ORMROD MORLEY
I am a master’s graduate in cellular pathology with experience using techniques including cell culture, tissue/cellular staining, qPCR, immunocytochemistry, ELISA, and immunofluorescence. I have received theoretical training on histological techniques such as microtomy, embedding, and quality control. My academic interests have always centred around cancer and immune response. I am a highly driven individual looking for a long-term career within the laboratory with motivation to maintain my skills with the latest training. I am happy to relocate to any location within the UK to give the best availability to the role. Previous to my switch to science, I have 10+ years of retail experience, including managerial skills and administration, jewellery/watch repair, and garment printing. My current role at My Pet Frog as a Heat Press Operative has supported my studies and kept my attention to detail sharp. About me personally: My hobbies include cooking, mushroom hunting, and keeping up with the latest health science news. I enjoy making jewellery (usually with a science theme) in my spare time. I am always looking to find new people to talk about science to and inspiring people to pursue their own interests.
