ABOUT LAURA MARSHALL
I am the Co-Founder and CEO of Icon Films, the TV production company I co-founded in 1990 with Harry Marshall, Chair. Icon Films’ work has contributed to Bristol’s position as a hub of factual programme-making for the UK and international market ever since, with our work broadcast in over 100 territories worldwide. I have been a member of PACT Council, the trade association representing the commercial interests of UK independent media companies.Alongside my role at Icon Films, I am actively involved with other organisations and charities across Bristol. I am Chair of Wildscreen and have spent time on the Board and as the Chair of Bristol Old Vic. I am a member of the Society of Merchant Venturers, and on the Local Governing Board of Merchant’s Academy. These roles have given me greater understanding of Bristol’s cultural and educational cornerstones and the importance of sustainability and inclusion in our city’s future. We have crafted films for many charities at home and abroad as part of our engagement with and responsibility for the world we live in, including the Whitley Fund for Nature, WWF, St. George’s Bristol and St Peter’s Hospice.
