ABOUT LAURA MANNING
As a GP with extended role in dermatology, I work to narrow the gap between primary care and secondary care dermatology. Following a distinction in the Cardiff Diploma in Practical Dermatology, I began working in both hospital dermatology clinics and general practice,Drawing on 15 years in primary care and 8 years in secondary care dermatology, including 2 years offering advice and guidance to GPs, I have written a book called Dermatology Essentials for General practice. I have structured this book around the presenting symptoms most commonly encountered in clinical practice. This format reflects how clinicians often approach skin problems in the real world: starting with what the patient sees and feels. Dermatology can be transformative. With growing confidence, there\'s so much we can do to support our patients and this is what makes the field so rewarding.
