ABOUT LAURA MALHI
Process engineer passionate about bringing external innovation into the business to promote growth. I have done this through the academic, start-up and specialist routes over the past 10+ years• As chairperson on the IChemE Food & Drink Special Interest Group I am keen to ensure that the committee provide a range of appropriate technical and development events to our members alongside building the network to influence policy and funding. Most recently I worked with leading academics and industrialists to publish the needs of the industry aligned with the industrial strategy green paper• Passionate about microstructure development through processing, with experience in both academic and industrial research & development• Published 3 peer reviewed articles to date, two patents and has research experience in fat crystallisation, O/W&W/O nanoemulsions, flavour release, fluid gel production and surfactant structuring.
