About Laura Lynn de Loache

I love being involved! Whether that means running a 5K my first week as an intern, attending countless Pepperdine athletic events decked head to toe in blue and orange, or participating in many philanthropy events for my sorority. The feeling of acceptance and connection in an organization or community, is what inspired me to a pursue human resources. Employees must be able to trust, respect, and communicate openly with each other to be successful. In the teams and organizations where I have served, I am often considered the glue. By appreciating people’s differences, highlight strengths, and encouraging open communication, I have found the best teamwork is developed through interpersonal relationships. When given a task or problem to solve, I enjoy collaborating with others, conducting research, and developing in depth solutions. Some of my past projects include; working with a non-profit organization to create a fundraising and awareness campaign, executing a company re-location plan, and participating in a team tasked with planning a Bring Your Child to Work Day for over 60 children. Sophomore year of college I took a risk and moved to Germany. While I had never been overseas, the opportunity presented itself and I couldn’t pass it up. Living abroad forced me to get out of my comfort zone, accept being lost sometimes, and learn to appreciate people different than me. I traveled to 14 countries and some of my favorite places where the most unexpected; from the waterfalls of Croatia to the black forest of Germany my bucket list has only gotten longer. Throughout all my trips I’ve been able to see different people in their own environments, and it has only reinforced my passion for understanding and connecting with others.
