Laura is experienced as a revenue cycle leader, consultant, and expert. Experienced as an HFMA and AHIMA speaker, physician and staff trainer and auditor for acute care and critical access hospitals and major health systems. Laura’s focus at FORVIS is providing clients with expertise to improve operations, provide education and ensure compliant RISK ADJUSTMENT capture and clinical documentation integrity.Laura has over 30 years of revenue cycle, revenue integrity and health information management experience working with acute care hospitals, critical access hospital, and home health and hospice services. The majority of Laura’s career was spent as an HIM/Revenue Integrity Director with focus on all areas of revenue integrity, coding/auditing and compliance. Laura has been a Registered Health Information Technician and Certified Coding Specialist since 1990 and has recently completed her RHIA through Stephens College. Laura is an experienced speaker and is often called up to speak for national and state HFMA/AHIMA meetings. Laura was born and raised in the Pacific Northwest and enjoys living in the Spokane Valley area with her husband. She has two daughters and is still waiting for grandchildren. Laura enjoys reading, walking and many church activities in her free time.
