About Laura Johnson

I have 23 years of experience successfully directing capital and annual fundraising campaigns for community development and educational institutions. For fifteen years, I served first as Director of Development and then as Executive Vice President of NewTown Macon. During that time I managed two capital campaigns raising more than $57 million from public and private sources for downtown revitalization projects. I also launched NewTown\'s third $18 million campaign and an annual fund drive, which raised more than each year for NewTown\'s operations. In 2014, I joined the staff at Mount de Sales Academy as Director of Institutional Advancement where I have increased annual giving by 280%. In addition to securing philanthropic gifts totaling nearly $2 million each year, my responsibilies at the Academy include strategic planning for enrollment growth, net tuition modeling, developing multi-channel marketing plans, and managing four advancement team members. I have a B.A. from Emory University and a M.Ed from Georgia State University.

I am directly responsible for raising 30% of the annual operating budget by securing charitable contributions to the annual fund, scholarship funds and endowments, golf tournaments, and capital campaigns as well as writing and managing foundation and government grants.
