I have worked in Information Technology for 30 years in several capacities: content producer, web administrator, business systems support, project officer, project manager and IT recruitment 36•••••••09In the UK I worked for local government Cornwall County Council and Plymouth City Council, carrying out various project support roles within Property management, Highways management, Transport, Waste disposal and internal support services. These roles required strong skills in coordination, planning, organisation skills, good communication, document and record management, training support, leadership and management skills as well as technical skills in Microsoft tools.Project Skills:• Identifying gaps and areas for improvement, driving efficiency and streamlining services to the community by improving internal processes, procedures or systems. • Connecting services, reviewing and joining up or consolidating services, providing options to aid and support their function within an organisation.• Delivering training to individuals or groups seeking personal growth.2011 - currentWhen I migrated to Australia, I was able to utilise my skills in project management in the recruitment role I was sponsored to take on. With the experience I gained from local government, I understood how internal businesses operated. How to manage projects, problem solve, manage timeframes and deliverables, the financial impacts as well as the importance of good stakeholder engagement skills. Understanding the pain points and being able to offer solutions to problems are all transferable skills, in the case of recruitment, finding not only the skills that were required to complete a role, but also the personalities to compliment the existing teams, enabling them to deliver successful outcomes.I focused on the healthcare sector as I felt I could add value at the same time I could feel that I was providing a good service to the healthcare sector, being a key enabler by putting the right skilled individuals into the roles that developed the software and systems to improve the patient’s overall experience.Additional Skills:• Coordination and facilitation of forums for change and improvements in digital health• Building and maintaining long lasting partnerships, developing strategies to meet business stakeholders short term and long term goals.
