Engaging as a community residence counselor at a specialized residential unit focusing on treatment for adolescents who struggle with emotional regulation, suicidal thoughts and urges, impulsivity and interpersonal struggles.I utilize intensive dialectical behavior therapy in 1 on 1 skills coaching with residents that focuses on how to regulate emotions, tolerate stress, build interpersonal skills, manage attention, and develop self-awareness.I participate in research on unit. I administer surveys such as the SITBI, DERS, DASS, VIRS and SVSI. This data will be utilized to inform patient treatment and for research posters that are to be presented at Mclean and Harvard research day.I participate in monthly seminars that provide Post-Bacc fellows the opportunity to learn about different topics related to mental health, such as specific diagnoses, treatment modalities, and other professional development topics.
