About Lauren King
An emerging professional in student-athlete support and development, I have years of experience in higher education in student, athlete, and staff roles. These modalities have brought success and failure, increasing my skills as an author, speaker, teammate, educator, student, and leader. With scarce support, I navigated mental health diagnoses, multiple injuries, transfers, and exploitative systems. Through these circumstances I was challenged often, and with a challenge comes growth.I experienced the worst parts of college athletics so that I could discover my purpose. My purpose is to offer the support I so often went without. College athletics are a medium for immense growth in far more ways than show up in a scouting report. Our greatest strengths as humans are the relationships we have with others and the world around us. My strength is finding those connections between the seemingly unrelated to create strong support systems that expedite growth.
