ABOUT LAUCHLIN FIELDS

With nearly 20 years of experience in journalism, audience strategy, and community-driven storytelling, I’ve dedicated my career to reimagining how stories connect people and place.I’m the founder and CVO of The Sip Collective, a storytelling and publishing platform amplifying the people, culture, and creativity of Mississippi and the South. Our digital publication, Amplify The Sip, activates a storytelling system I created to engage through connection and design—blending journalism, culture, and community in meaningful, human ways.I also serve as Program & Coaching Manager at Blue Engine Collaborative, where I help design and support programs that strengthen local news organizations and the people who lead them through people-first systems and strategy.Earlier in my career, I founded The ’Sip Magazine and worked on Blues @ Home, a project with artist H.C. Porter documenting the stories of living blues musicians across Mississippi. I’ve also collaborated with museums to develop exhibits and experiences that bring community stories to life—work that continues to shape my belief in culture and connection as powerful tools for understanding and belonging. At the heart of my work is a belief that storytelling—when rooted in care, design, and connection—can help people see themselves and one another more clearly and create positive change.
