Responsible for the detection of bacteria and viruses from domestic and imported food and cosmetic products. Bacteria species include the following, but aren\'t limited to: Salmonella, Listeria, Escherichia and Staphylococcus. Detection is determined through the use of toxin-encoding DNA sequences using real time PCR, biochemical profiling, hemolysis patterns, microscopic motility, Gram staining, etc. One of three analysts chosen to assist with implementation of new temperature monitoring system for ARL. Chosen by management to serve as a representative for ARL special emphasis group. Completed requirements and training necessary to be added to CDC select agent registration to work with bioterrorism agents.
