About Latoya Neal

From a young age, I saw myself as a career woman. I wasn’t quite sure exactly what that looked like, but I knew I wanted to drive results. I worked hard and earned a scholarship to Oakland University and headed off to find my way. Life rarely goes according to plan. I got pregnant during my sophomore year and moved back home to finish school in Indiana. I felt disappointed my college journey had gone off track, but I used that frustration to fuel a passion within me. I was determined to finish school, have my child, and step confidently into the work world. And that’s exactly what I did. I obtained my undergraduate degree in four years and made the Dean’s List. I shadowed my older sister in pharmaceutical sales and studied vigorously to learn the job and the industry. I went to every career fair I could find. And when I landed my first job at Eli Lilly, it was fate. My son’s name is Eli. I eventually moved to Novartis and completed my master’s degree. I was named Top 30 Under 30 by Indiana University. And I was just getting started. After 8 years of strong success in pharma, I was ready to expand my reach. I had completed my thesis on IBM and quickly set their Summit program as my next target. While typically only recruiting candidates from Ivy League schools, I put together a pitch highlighting my perseverance as a 19-year-old mother and my solid accomplishments in the workplace and earned a spot at the table. More than a decade later, and I am leading a top performing global sales team amongst IBM’s top 13 ecosystem partnerships. I am a visionary leader with a solid reputation for driving revenue growth, forging high-value partnerships, and delivering solutions that align with customer needs. If you share my passion for stepping up to life’s challenges, let’s connect.
