ABOUT LATOSHA DEXTER

Latosha serves as VP of Legal Affairs, General Counsel, and Secretary to the Board of Trustees at F&M. She also is responsible for management of the Office of the President. In her role as VP of Legal Affairs and General Counsel, Latosha leads the college’s comprehensive legal strategy and provides executive oversight for Environmental Health and Safety and Risk Management and the Department of Public Safety. Believing in a holistic and practical approach to the practice of law, she enjoys working with groups and committees on strategies to creatively solve problems and avoid litigation. In her role as Secretary to the Board of Trustees, Latosha serves as the chief governance liaison and strategic advisor to the Board and the President, ensuring the efficient and effective discharge of the Board’s fiduciary duties.Prior to joining F&M, she served as Deputy University Counsel for The University of Memphis. She previously worked for almost ten years at the regional law firm of Rainey, Kizer, Reviere and Bell, where her practice focused on advising and representing both private and public institutions in a variety of governmental, employment and educational matters. She has also worked in the nationally recognized human resources department for Federal Express Corporation where she was awarded the FedEx Express Human Resources Award of Excellence and holds a Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR) certification. Latosha was a member of MBQ: Inside Memphis Business\'s Next Gen Leaders 2014 inaugural class and has also been recognized by Memphis Business Journal’s Top 40 Under 40 (2011). She is a graduate of Leadership Memphis’s 2014 Executive Program and has been recognized as a Super Lawyer’s Rising Star in the area of Employment Litigation Defense (20••••14).Latosha holds an undergraduate degree from Middle Tennessee State University and a Juris Doctorate degree from the University of Tennessee College of Law. Latosha is admitted to practice in both Tennessee and Pennsylvania. With a strong belief in the value of education, Latosha frequently speaks at conferences and seminars on topics related to human resources and employment law.
