ABOUT LASHARNA BARNETT

I began my journey at Freeths in October 2021, joining as a Legal Assistant in the Corporate department. Since then, I\'ve had the privilege of advancing to the role of Trainee Solicitor in August 2023. Having completed my initial training seat in Corporate Law, I am now poised to broaden my practical understanding across various practice areas in the coming year and a half.My foundation in Corporate Law, coupled with a dedication to lifelong learning, propels me in dynamic environments where I actively contribute to the advancement of legal matters. As a Trainee Solicitor, I am eager to immerse myself in diverse practice areas, gaining invaluable insights and practical skills that will shape my future as a competent and ethical legal professional.Beyond my professional endeavours, I am deeply committed to fostering and championing initiatives geared at improving diversity and inclusion within the legal sector. Since entering the profession, I have leveraged my legal knowledge to positively impact the lives of other individuals, whether that be internal or external to Freeths. As one of Freeths’ Diversity and Inclusion Office Representatives, I\'ve spearheaded various events celebrating the diverse narratives and experiences of my colleagues, culminating in a nomination for the Birmingham Black Lawyers’ Society\'s D&I Champion award in 2023.I am unwavering in my commitment to driving positive change within the legal profession and broader society. Eager to connect with like-minded individuals and organisations, I invite opportunities for collaboration and collective progress towards a more inclusive and equitable legal profession.
