About Larry J. V.

I am currently the music teacher and Fine Arts Department Chair at IC Catholic Prep HS in Elmhurst, IL. In 2026 and 2027, I am a Grammy-nominated music teacher.In the past, I have served GAMA as National Communications Director for their Education program. I have also served as a public school orchestra and guitar teacher for 18 years. I have also published several pieces for guitar ensemble and one book on guitar changes. I made the move to advertising and marketing and have worked with R. C. Romine in Geneva, IL. I was the Advertising and Promotions Specialist at World Library Publications/J.S. Paluch and Company in Franklin Park, IL. I am the founder of Bundles from Britain, which later became Alien Entertainment, the largest Dr. Who store in North America! I am also well known for being the architect of the largest orchestra and guitar program in Illinois, the programs at Adlai E. Stevenson High School (Lincolnshire, IL), and Districts 103, 96, and 102. I have helped guitar programs all across the country by traveling and doing teacher education workshops. My articles on effective teaching were published by the American String Teacher Association Journal, and I have served on the faculties at VanderCook College of Music in Chicago and Duquesne University in Pittsburgh. I was notified on my being in the faculty hall of fame at Stevenson High School for founding the orchestra and guitar program. I have published works for guitar ensemble and elementary orchestra. My orchestra compositions are aimed at being easy to play for young beginners.
