Aaxia offers customized coverage solutions for companies across North America in the chemical manufacturing, distribution and brokering business. Aaxia is the longest standing insurance agency member of the National Association of Chemial Distributors (NACD).My career began as a Risk Manager & Insurance Archaeology Manager at Risk International, where I managed both current and historical coverage issues for Fortune 500 clients, including BFGoodrich, Geon (PolyOne), Paramount/Viacom, Collins & Aikman, Browning-Ferris Industries (BFI) and others. Primary to that work were environmental coverage issues for both ongoing product, property and operational exposures, as well as long-tail toxic tort claims. As Insurance Archaeology Manager, I developed client libraries of historic coverage for clients totaling over $7 billion in usable policy limits - for the purpose of helping clients defray the costs of major environmental liabilities.As an Environmental Underwriter at AIG Environmental (Chartis Insurance), I developed coverage programs for environmental and chemical risks of all sizes. My primary task was to focus on advancing the coverage options available to the chemical industry and to advance NACD member benefits. The combined general liability/pollution policies (EAGLE) were newly developed at that time, which placed me in the unique position of training agencies and educating chemical industry clients about their expanding coverage options, including supporting coverage lines (umbrella/excess, auto/trucking and property).An opportunity to accelerate the growth of our chemical insurance focus came as I entered the brokering/agency business. As a Sr. VP and Director of Chemical Insurance Services at Sirak-Moore and later as Founder & Co-Owner of Aaxia, I developed a national marketing platform to educate chemical manufacturers and distributors in the NACD and other chemical associations about best practices in risk management and insurance.
