ABOUT LARRY HON

Dr. Larry Hon was born and raised in San Gabriel, California where he received his eagle scout rank, taught swimming, and tutored children in science. He graduated from UCLA and received his Bachelor’s degree in Physiological Sciences.Dr. Hon continued his education at California State University, Dominguez Hills where he earned his Master’s degree in Biology with a focus on advancing the understanding of the pathogenic mechanisms and virulence factors of bacterial infections. During his studies, Dr. Hon developed an interest in oral infections and moved from research to dentistry at UNLV School of Dental Medicine where he received his Doctor of Dental Medicine degree.Following his passion for educating children, he decided to specialize in Pediatric Dentistry and completed his two-year residency at UNLV. Dr. Hon was awarded his Certificate in Pediatric Dentistry and is also Board Certified for the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry.Dr. Hon is currently a MAJOR in the United States Army Reserves. He attends Battle Assembly one weekend per month and Annual Training 1 to 3 months per year. As a Pediatric Dentist, he is dedicated on prevention, education, and treatment without General Anesthesia. He is also a Pediatric Residency Instructor at UNLV School of Dental Medicine, mentoring the next generation of Pediatric Dentists in passing the written Board Examinations and clinical competency. When he’s not working, he’s taking care of his two children, playing video games, playing chess, watching anime, reading comic books, or training in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu.
