EXECUTIVE EXPERIENCE As President and CEO of Electric Supply Center (ESC), the company has transformed under Larry LaFreniere’s leadership from a small, local business when he purchased it in 1998, into one of New England’s fastest-growing electrical suppliers today. Passionate about his business, Larry has expanded ESC from a single office to 5 locations, including a square foot central distribution center that opened in 2015. With headquarters in Burlington; sales offices in Gloucester, Mansfield and Wakefield; and the distribution center in Woburn, ESC has developed into an model of efficiency. With true entrepreneurial spirit, Larry has overseen the expansion of ESC, with revenue growth that has surpassed $100m. With a company philosophy that can be distilled into five words – DRIVEN TO HELP YOU COMPETE – Larry has initiated a number of customer-centric improvements for ESC, a full-service distributor supplying large distribution and lighting projects. Daily and overnight delivery, a growing fleet of delivery trucks, and strategic procurement strategies for larger end users. BUSINESS & COMMUNITY INVOLVEMENT A business executive, Larry serves as a member of the Boston Federal Reserve Bank of Boston New England Advisory Council. Also committed to education, Larry serves as a Trustee for Wentworth Institute of Technology in Boston, ranked by US News & World Report as among the top 15 northern region colleges in the US. Trained as a Mechanical Engineer, Larry understands the value of a technical background and ESC’s internship program works closely with Wentworth students. A supporter of Children’s Hospital in Boston, Larry was elected to the Board of Overseers in 2015 and now serves on the committee for Champions for Children which raises close to $5.5 million for Boston Children\'s in 2023. In 2023, LaFreniere was appointed to Lahey Hospital & Medical Center Board of Trustees, where he will serve on finance and philanthropy committees.
