Mr. Altenburg brings over 30 years of experience in both the public and private sector addressing critical infrastructure protection and mission assurance missions at the national level. He currently serves as the Chief Information Officer for SC & A Inc, an energy and environmental consulting firm based in Arlington, Virginia.Larry has led corporate modernization and transformation efforts focused on their technology and information, to ensure high quality and compliant delivery and services, including the modernization of the U.S. Special Operations Command. He built and led Project Management Offices responsible for global technology delivery for two large US Government organizations and three government contractors. Larry led the development of ten-year enterprise IT strategy and transformation, sourcing strategy, and ten-year enterprise risk management plan for a major US defense agency. He developed and led holistic risk mitigation and security management programs for three cabinet-level agencies, a large energy regulatory organization, a large institution of higher-education, several independent government agencies, and several private sector firms.He has led the development of emergency preparedness and security programs for multiple federal agencies, including the Defense Intelligence Agency, the US Departments of Commerce, Education, and Energy, and the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission. He has extensive experience supporting and leading homeland security programs, including building state and local assistance programs for several DHS components, and supporting CBRN counter-terrorism programs for the U.S. Departments of Homeland Security, Energy, and the Department of Defense. Mr. Altenburg currently leads SC & A’s support to the Department of Homeland Security focused on countering weapons of mass destruction.
