I have worked at the Department of Veterans Affairs since 2001, starting as a network administrator, Managed the Security Operations Center when it was first developed at VA, worked in a Project Management Office for IT, E-Authentication, Risk Management and Incident Response, Authority to Operate (ATO) Team Lead for the enterprise,Information Security Policy and Compliance where I currently work. I have worked with some extremely professional personnel that have enlightened me, and made me smile while shaking my head at some of the crazy theories and statement made but not supported. These environments, along with knowing you are supporting those who directly care for Veterans, provide benefits, and memorable service makes the job enjoyable and worthwhile. I maintain certifications in security (CISSP)-Security +, and in Privacy CIPP and /G (for Government). I have obtained a Master’s in Education and enjoyed teaching (and learning from students) at the college level.
