About Larry Stone
Larry Stone- Larry Stone, has been in the solid waste industry since 1972. He has held various positions and responsibilities within the industry. He worked as the Corporate Safety Director for Waste Pro USA, Inc. from 2013 thru 2015. Prior to going to Waste Pro, Mr. Stone had worked for Rumpke Consolidated Companies, for more than nearly 40 years where he held many positions, including General Laborer, Heavy Equipment Operator, Truck Driver, Sales Representative, Assistant General Manager, General Manager of Operations, Special Projects Manager and was the Corporate Director of Safety when he retired. Larry’s background includes several years of service with various greater Cincinnati, Ohio police and fire departments. He has served as a police officer, department training officer, fire fighter, life squad member and EMT, public education and training division member, crime prevention officer, public relations specialist and trained public information officers. Team building is very important role of leadership; there is a big difference in management and true leadership. Ensuring that people feel good about who they are and what they are doing, as well as understanding the true meaning of team work a necessary step in productivity. In 2004, Larry’s development of the national “Slow Down To Get Around” campaign earned him the National Solid Wastes Management Association (NSWMA) Member of the Year Award for his dedication to safety within the industry. Larry’s safety program is currently in place in hundreds of municipalities around the country, from coast to coast. His dedication to safety within the waste and recycling industry also earned him the 2012 Safety in Motion Award which honors an industry leader for facilitating and developing new programs through industry idea sharing and collaboration. Larry was a charter member of the Colerain Township, Ohio Business Association and served four terms as Vice President and five terms as President. He was involved with the Northwest Exchange Club for over 20 years. Larry enjoys riding motorcycles with his wife Tracie and serves as the Chaplain for the Fire and Iron Station 56, a National Fire Fighters Motorcycle Club. He and Tracie are currently attending Northside Christian Church, in New Albany, Indiana.
