Leads a work force consisting of 140 Salary and Represented personnel supporting 9 F-35B/C program requirements• Communicates directly with Integrated Test Force (ITF) department heads to ensure program requirements are met • Ensures maintenance technicians are adequately trained, equipped, and motivated so that the maintenance program can be accomplished in a safe, timely, and cost-effective manner • Ensures DCMA, LM Aeronautics, and Federal regulations relating to the maintenance department are met at all times • Tracks, analyzes and improves key maintenance parameters such as asset utilization, maintenance cost, program management compliance, schedule compliance; participates in goals setting and ITF IMS development and execution • Communicates directly with QA department to ensure effective participation by the maintenance technicians in the implementation of QA policies and procedures • Implements programs and procedures required to ensure ITF and Lockheed Martin LEAN/6S principals are adhered to • Ensures that all maintenance technicians are trained on the most updated version of the operating procedures • Prepares reports, analyzes data, and makes recommendations for improving operations and solving maintenance-related problems; initiates and carries out projects that improve efficiency and/or reduce operating costs • Conducts employee performance reviews based on job descriptions to determine competency, knowledge, and contribution of the maintenance technicians; assists with recruiting and hiring of maintenance personnel • Reviews the operation of F-35 equipment and systems constantly, to minimize unplanned downtime, anticipate solve problems in a timely manner, and to identify opportunities for improvement • Directs, maintains, and enforces the safety program for the maintenance department; reviews safety records to uphold standards of maximum safety for all technicians; maintains safety, health, and environmental policies
